The scope of this project was to replace all racking with new RACKsteel material inside a freezer at -20 degrees.
We took down 3 double deep rows and a single row with about 3 to 5 beam levels.
The client required a full engineering package which we preliminary reviewed and recommended to meet the needs of their palletised storage. We fabricated custom beams for all of their tunnels in-house. This included cutting, welding and painting 30 beams. The key requirement was being able to still store 2 pallets on each level with clear room to bring them in and out without damaging the products maximizing the storage availability. The space was very tight, and cutting the tunnel beams down was necessary.
Once all new racking was installed, we used 8 frames/uprights with a total of 6 bays of their old racking and installed it outside of the freezer making sure we would achieve the engineering requirements as well. A truly successful replacement project to get this client operating faster.
