Our Story

2014

Gilmour Industrial Solutions was founded in 2014 by Liam Gilmour supported by his father Paul Gilmour. Following years of prior industry experience in the sale of material handling equipment and pallet racking systems, early growth was driven by a combination of new customer acquisition, successful execution of major projects, and increasing market demand for alternative racking solutions.

2017

In 2017, the company was formally incorporated, marking a significant milestone in its expansion. During this period, the organization strengthened its service offering by introducing project management services, turnkey solutions, and a strategic focus on factory-direct material supply. These initiatives laid the foundation for the development of a proprietary in-house racking product line.

Later that same year, RACKsteel Inc. was established. Following several years of product development and certification, the company identified the need for a full-scale operational facility to support its quick-ship program and ensure efficient product delivery. Surrey, British Columbia was selected as the location for its head office and primary warehouse operations.

As the business continued to expand, operations were relocated to a 20,000 square foot facility in Langley, British Columbia, positioning the company to support its next phase of growth.

2024

In 2024, the company broadened its product offering to include a comprehensive range of material handling equipment and systems, enabling a fully integrated, turnkey solution for both storage and order picking applications. Additional product categories were introduced, including loading dock equipment, steel shelving systems, mesh partitions, mezzanines, and related solutions.

2025

In 2025, the launch of RACKsteel Storage Systems marked the next evolution of the brand, reinforcing its position as a complete solutions provider within the material handling and storage industry.
