In this case, we received a phone call from the owner on July 15th. They were merging their Burnaby warehouse with their Vancouver warehouse and needed a teardown of (110) 20-foot-high racking frames and associated beams, along with installation services of the same material by the end of the month. It was a critical crunch to ensure they experienced little to no downtime and were able to get operating quickly.
He mentioned they usually use a competitor of ours but they were not available until mid-August and needed alternative options to consider. We were able to quote a much-improved price point than he had originally expected, with flexible start times with our in-house crew and foreman leadership. measurements for the custom Row End Guards and RACKsteel started fabrication.
It was clear, that the best solution was working this project in stages. Together with their project management team, we worked closely to minimize any lost production and distribution revenue they were forecasting. Our foreman and installation team worked with them to finalize a layout that maximized their space providing the best design for smooth operations.
Overall, it was a huge success. We’re thankful for their compliments and referrals to other companies in similar positions, and proud to see our solution went beyond their expectations. Everything went smoothly and while we anticipated it would take 10 full days, we were able to accomplish the entire project in 7 days and ahead of schedule. On completion, we received a very nice Google Review complimenting our services. The teardown was completed, and pallet racking was relocated to the new warehouse making our customer ready to get operating faster than expected!
