Bothwell Manufacturing, a prominent player in industrial manufacturing and installation of roofing systems. Our collaborative efforts, spearheaded by the dedication of our Project Sales Consultant – Kristeen, and Installation Foreman – Carlos, successfully executed this ambitious project.

Facing operational inefficiencies and bottlenecks, Bothwell Manufacturing reached out to us in September 2022, marking the project as a high priority in preparation to their new building construction in Campbell Heights, Surrey. The initial engagement, guided by Kristeen, involved intricate discussions to understand the client’s pain points and requirements.

Discovery and Planning:

Kristeen’s meticulous approach involved engaging with several contacts in the company obtaining structural drawings and creating high-quality designs in collaboration with the drafting department. Recognizing the need for a cost-effective custom solution, Kristeen strategically shifted the project to be handled by our factory.

Implementation Process:

Under RACKsteel’s foreman leadership, the installation process began with the unloading of racking material. The team efficiently set up a crane marking the commencement of frame construction. Our foreman Carlos’s detailed weekly breakdown outlined the construction of heavy duty double posted and double braced pallet racking, heavy duty cantilever racking, steel shelving and the subsequent cleanup and organization.

Engineering Challenges:

To meet Bothwell’s weight requirements, our operations and engineering worked intensely on a robust engineering solution. Despite the initial plan for a 24′ frame height design, Kristeen navigated a redesign to 20′ high, showcasing adaptability and quick decision-making to satisfy seismic requirements for the ability to withstand higher weight.

Client Relationship Building:

Kristeen’s strategic communication was pivotal in steering the project. She navigated negotiations with the customer, strategically matched competitor quotes, and successfully handled numerous meetings and quote revisions. Her ability to build trust was evident in her first in-person meeting with a few executives and decision-makers at Bothwell-Accurate.

Overcoming Setbacks:

The project faced a temporary setback due to the existing poor slab’s inability to support the weight requirements. Kristeen, demonstrating expertise beyond traditional sales, advised the customer on the need for slab improvement to satisfy project engineering requirements.

Results:

The seamless integration of our storage solutions resulted in a 30% increase in operating efficiency, enhanced quality control, and real-time monitoring capabilities for Bothwell-Accurate Company.

Conclusion:

The combined efforts of Kristeen and Carlos seamlessly navigated challenges, from intricate negotiations and strategic decision-making to the hands-on installation process. Beyond technical achievements, the project showcased our team’s ability to build enduring client relationships. Kristeen’s dedication, from the initial phone call to the first in-person meeting, highlighted her commitment to understanding client needs and building trust. Carlos, through meticulous planning and hands-on execution, ensured that the installation process was not only efficient but also met the client’s expectations.
